Bluebonnet Bakeshop

A little taste of Texas when you're far away from home.

Something for everyone

Two things Texans pride ourselves on is our hospitality and our penchant for throwing parties for just about everything. We practically invented tailgating, and the only folks to throw a better hurricane party might be our Cajun neighbors to the east.

That being said, any host worth their salt knows that, while you can't please everybody, you can sure try. That's why you'll always find at least one vegan offering and one vegetarian offering on the menu, with gluten-free also in development.

The Bakeshop

Growing up on a rural Texas homestead, River’s earliest memories of baking trace back to watching her mother grind wheat to make the bread that served as their family’s contribution to their local agricultural co-operative. The idea of something being made “from scratch” didn’t exist back then—it was simply how things were done: no shortcuts, no half-measures.

River carries that same ethos with her into the Bluebonnet Bakeshop, where everything that can be made by hand, is. From brewing her own vanilla extract to partnering with local Ilsan restaurant Ginger & Treacle for their handmade sausage and cured meats, River is committed to sustainable business practices, fair-trade imports, and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
